Baseball Operations Assistant (September 2023)
Calling all baseball experts. Have you ever dreamed of working in a baseball front office? This is your chance to gain some valuable experience by assisting our baseball operations staff.
Export baseball statistics from various sources.
Review and collect baseball highlights at the direction of team general manager
Provide outreach to prospective players
Monitor offseason baseball leagues to identify potential prospective players
Form relationships on behalf of team general manager with collegiate baseball coaches
Assist player personnel and equipment manager in-season.
Provide general research on a required basis by Baseball Operations staff
Make outbound phone calls to strategic baseball vendors

Operations/Game Day Coordinator
As an Operations coordinator, you will assist in game day setup and execution. In the offseason, this includes planning and scheduling our 21 home games with outside vendors and partners.
Outline processes for game day staff and volunteers
Setup pre-event checklists for each staff division
Provide miscellaneous support around the stadium
Generate schedule for vendor relations and fulfillment
Manage online merchandise store performance
Assist player personnel with setup of season activities
Monitor stock and inventory levels of all player equipment
Marketing & Advertising Coordinator
Our marketing & advertising coordinators are responsible for generating unique ideas on how to portray the Hamilton Cardinals brand to our fans.
Explore new game day promotions that would interest our fan base
Generate team hashtags and slogans to be used on social media.
Identify key advertising strategies for fan base demographic
Write advertising geared toward the target demographic of sports fans and families
Write 30-second TV and radio advertising
Work with team graphic designer to create social media ad content
Collaborate with sponsors to create in-game advertisements and promotions to their liking.
Prepare advertising scripts for PA announcer on game day
Equipment Manager
Our Equipment Manager is responsible for managing all assets within the stadium that is used for baseball operations.
Prepare the home locker room before games.
Setup the home and visitor benches before all games at Bernie Arbour Stadium.
Setup the field for batting practice
Collect and manage inventory of bats, baseballs, and other equipment.
Relace gloves and cleats.
Receive direction from players about individual equipment requests and setup.
Assist the team during the game with any equipment-related requests.
Travel with the team on road games.
Corporate & Group Ticket Sales
As a sales representative of the Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club, you are responsible for selling group tickets to corporations, community organizations and other groups within the greater Hamilton area. You will utilize outbound sales strategies by email and phone, in order to form relationships with potential Hamilton Cardinals fans.
Make outbound calls and emails for new sales of group tickets and group related products
Develop effective sales strategies and campaigns to achieve goals set by management
Identify key group sales segments and created targeted approach to generate new sales
Develop targeted out of office sales plan to capture group opportunities (ex: other community events)
Implement and maintain plans for sales team use of HubSpot CRM; creating a strategy to manage group sales pipelines, produce regular sales and forecasting reports, updates on sales campaigns and group event execution
Develop and maintain website content for group sales website
Social Media Coordinator
As a social media coordinator, you will work closely with our graphic design team to generate social media content across our social media accounts.
Generate and post content on social media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter.
Monitor social media comments and respond accordingly.
Form cross-promotion partnerships with other social media accounts
Track engagement of campaigns
Schedule content around team schedule
Establish internal social media guidelines for team
Graphic Designer
Our graphic designers will collaborate with our social media team to create new graphics, templates and designs for our social media accounts.
Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator to create design templates using Hamilton Cardinals style guide
Research latest social media trends and templates
Measure engagement of various designs
Create designs for upcoming promotions and home games
Collaborate with team photographer to import game day images into social media templates accordingly.
Create annual baseball card templates for player photos
Video Editor/Producer
Our video editors are crucial to putting together the necessary video content for the Hamilton Cardinals brand. This will include both production and post-production work.
Transfer footage to computer and assess overall quality and provide recommendations to broadcast team.
Record or assist team with recording raw footage of team activities
Setup OBS with team broadcast equipment for live stream of all home games (May to September only)
Input graphics where necessary to enhance viewing experience.
Provide post-production support by digitally splicing video footage into smaller clips.
Optimize video for various platforms including TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
Improve and correct lighting, coloring and faulty footage as required.
Team Journalist
As a team journalist, you are responsible for creating written content for our team website.
Provide written recaps of all games during the season
Research team history and create content on past stories about the team
Collaborate with players to tell their personal stories in written form
Provide game recaps for Hamilton Cardinals players participating in other offseason leagues
Generate written reoccurring feature stories about the Hamilton Cardinals.
Administrative/Accounting Assistant
As an administrative assistant, you will work closely with management to support the overall operation of the Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club.
Work with accountant to log expenses in QuickBooks
Make necessary HST filings
Generate and issue invoices for customers
Facilitate payment to vendors
Review standard contractual agreements
Assist with payroll processing and employee timesheets
Field inbound phone and email inquiries
Provide research on a required basis by Baseball Operations staff
Make outbound phone calls to new vendors and strategic partners
