Veteran Renaud Re-Signs with Cardinals
The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce that veteran infielder Laine Renaud will be returning for his seventh season with the team in 2024.
A native of Hamilton, Renaud has made a name for himself with his impressive power hitting and knack for driving in runs during crucial moments. Notably, two of his six home runs last season were hit in playoff games against the Barrie Baycats. Throughout the season, Renaud ranked third on the team in doubles and fourth in home runs. In 2024, Renaud will see more time on the right side of diamond at first and second base.
“Laine’s bat still plays in this league, and I still remember him having some of our loudest contact,” said Cardinals General Manager George Halim. “Moving him to the right side should alleviate some of the defensive pressure and let him focus on hitting a bit more.”
