Pitcher Corben Peters Re-Signed for 2024
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce that pitcher Corben Peters will be returning for his third season in 2024.
A standout player from Grambling State University (NCAA D1), Peters has proven to be one of the Cardinals' most dependable pitchers. His versatility shines through in his ability to excel both as a starter and a reliever, complemented by his impressive strikeout record. Last year, Peters featured in 21 games, amassing 44 innings with a commendable ERA of 4.50 and securing 54 strikeouts.
Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, the 24-year-old Peters delivered a remarkable performance that remains etched in Cardinals history. In a crucial Game 2 at home against the Barrie Baycats, Peters dominated the mound for 8 innings, conceding just one run and five hits, leading the Cardinals to a triumphant 5-1 victory.
Beyond his contributions on the field, Peters is a familiar face in the Hamilton community, actively promoting baseball and the Cardinals. His commitment extends to developing young talent, as he leads pitching clinics on behalf of the organization and offers personalized pitching lessons at the Cardinals' official indoor training facility - StrikeZone in Burlington.
“Our odds of winning go up when Corben is on the mound,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “He’s a competitor with a contagious demeanor, and an arm you want pitching in big situations. We love that he’s a Cardinal.”
