Panthers end streak

HAMILTON – The first-place Kitchener Panthers cooled off the red hot Hamilton Cardinals, ending the team's eight-game win streak with a 10-1 triumph at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium Friday night.

Yorbis Borroto had two hits, two RBI and two runs for the Panthers (23-9). Liam Wilson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, Zarley Cina had three hits and drove in a pair, Zach Johnson and Colin Cordner each added an RBI, and Ryley Davenport hit a solo home run.

Miguel Lahera (3-1) went five scoreless innings for the win, scattering four hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Clay Miller (3-2) took the loss, giving up eight runs (five earned) on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout in 5.1 innings.

Grant Arnold singled twice and drove in Hamilton's only run, while Jon Dziomba and Laine Renaud each had two hits.

Third-place Hamilton fell to 19-14.
