Marcus Dicenzo returns for 2019

The Hamilton Cardinals of the IBL are pleased to announce the signing of infielder Marcus Dicenzo (Hamilton). Marcus is the son of Dean Dicenzo one of the greatest to ever play in Hamilton and the IBL. Last year Dean was named to the IBL's list of 100 players of all-time.

Marcus graduated from University of West Alabama and is entering his 5th season in the IBL. Marcus had knee surgery and sat out the entire 2018 season. In 2017, Marcus hit .203 (15-74) with 3 RBI's and 4 SB's.

"Marcus brings a lot to our team that is not always easy to see in a boxscore. He is a great locker room guy, he is a great team player, understands his role and does a lot of little things well to help the team win when he gets his opportunity to play. I am sure Marcus will be itching to help out too, since he was on the bench watching us late last season", said GM Jeff Lounsbury

"I’m looking forward to getting back out on the field again and being with the guys. Last year was bittersweet watching some of the success we had, but I’m excited to build on that this season. It’s a great day to be a Cardinal." states Dicenzo

The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario’s most elite baseball league, The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
