Majors out-hit Cardinals in comeback win for London
The Hamilton Cardinals lost 14-6 to the Majors in London on Tuesday night.
Hamilton went up 5-0 in the top of the first inning thanks to a pair of homeruns by Josh Niles and Julian Johnson.
Cardinals shortstop, Nathan Scragg, hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to make it 6-0.
London relief pitchers, Fernando Fernandez and Jordan Spring held Hamilton to just four hits in the final four innings.
The Majors bats got hot in the third and fifth innings for 12 runs. Homers by Robert Mullen, Austin Wilkie and Starling Joseph pushed the Majors past the Cardinals for a come from behind victory.
Cardinals pitcher, Stefan Strecker, pitched a tidy ninth inning. Wes Markle (0-1) was credited with the loss and Daniel Gore (1-1) got the win.
Cardinals right-fielder, Tyler Duncan, went two for five including his third triple of the season.
Hamilton (4-9) will look to bounce back on Friday, June 24 at 7:35 p.m. when they’ll take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.
