MacNeil Returning For 2022

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of 2^nd year Pitcher Owen MacNeil (Georgetown,On). MacNeil is a 6’4’ Righthanded pitcher who is a red shirt sophomore at University of Charleston.

Last summer MacNeil made his IBL debut in Hamilton pitching 17.1 innings in 5 games. He had a 0-2 record with 21 strikeouts. “We are happy to have Owen return, we have only seen him scratch the surface of how good he can be. With a full year of college ball before he comes home, I am sure Owen will be greatly improved. We will see the benefit of him maturing into a very good pitcher. Last season, was a great chance for him to ease into IBL baseball, get his feet wet and gain valuable experience”. GM Jeff Lounsbury

When asked about returning for 2022 MacNeil stated “I am very excited to return to Hamilton and compete as a Cardinal this summer! I’m looking forward to making a strong push for a title with a great group of guys around me”

The Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club is a member of Canada's best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
