IBL ANNOUNCES 2021 SCHEDULE

The Intercounty Baseball League released their modified schedule for the 2021 season on Thursday for the league’s 102^nd season.

The Hamilton Cardinals will play 36-games during the season which will get underway on Thursday, June 3^rd with the team taking to the road to face the Kitchener Panthers at Jack Couch Park. The next night the same two teams will go at it as the Cardinals open the home portion of their schedule hosting the Panthers.

During the 2021 campaign, the Cardinals will play Barrie, Brantford, Guelph, Kitchener, Longon and Toronto five times while facing Welland six times.  The club’s 18 home games schedule sees the team hosting eight games on Friday nights while the remaining ten games are taking place on Sunday afternoons.  All home games will be held at CarStar Field at Bernie Arbour Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario with a 2:05 p.m. start on Sundays and a 7:35 p.m. start on Friday.

In releasing the schedule, IBL Commissioner John Kastner stated, “We are hopeful that the IBL has baseball in 2021 and we are releasing a modified schedule based on a June 1 start date.” He continued, “This is of course tentative and based on a myriad of factors outside of our control including vaccine availability, mass immunization rollout and most importantly restrictions and allowances based on the province’s emergency orders.”
