HAMILTON CARDINALS SUNDAY HOME GAMES TO BE BROADCAST ON INTERNET RADIO

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce that Sunday afternoon home games will be broadcast on internet radio. The first broadcast is scheduled for May 19.
Harvey Sahker will be the voice of the Cardinals. Sahker, 57, has been involved with baseball in many capacities. He played competitive baseball in Great Britain for 13 years and has since functioned as a coach, official scorer and umpire. As far as media work is concerned, Sahker has been a freelance baseball writer for over three decades. His by line has appeared in “Baseball America”, the 2000 Olympic baseball program, and so on.
Sahker first approached Hamilton GM Jeff Lounsbury during the winter about broadcasting games on the internet. “Jeff has been very supportive of the idea. Other IBL clubs have had some success using internet radio. Hopefully the Cardinals will, too. Personally, I’m very excited about broadcasting the games.”

Spending Sunday afternoons at Bernie Arbour Stadium is a perfect fit for Sahker. That’s because he spends his Sunday mornings playing old-timers baseball around the corner, at Mohawk Sports Park. “Some of the guys in the old-timers league are former Intercounty players. There are one of two ex-Cardinals in that group. Who knows: maybe I can convince them to do an internet radio interview.”
