Chris Piano joins Cardinals Coaching Staff
The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the addition of Chris Piano to there 2021 Coaching Staff. Chris brings a wealth of experience as he was a player/coach in 2009 in the Austrian Baseball League with the Union Kufstein Vikings. Chris also played 5 seasons in the IBL for the Hamilton franchise and played 2008 for Australia Berkley Eagles. In his IBL career Chris had a .281 average (89-317) with 13 double, 5 triples, 5 homeruns 42 RBI's and 23 stolen bases.
In talking with Chris recently, we talked about how COVID had really made him appreciate what baseball had meant to him over the years and wanted to get back involved. I could not think of a better alumni player to come back and help Coach Castelli. Chris was a hard nosed player, but always had smile on his face and was competitive as they came. He will fit in great." said GM Jeff Lounsbury
The Hamilton Cardinals are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
