Cardinals sign Lefty pitcher Christian Fava

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of left-handed pitcher Christian Fava.

Fava is originally from Vaughan, ON and will occupy one of the IBL Jr. age roster spots for the Cardinals this season. He previously pitched for the Ontario Astros in the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL), where he distinguished himself as a reliable and effective pitcher.

In the 2023 season, Fava joined the Syracuse Spartans in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). Over 11 innings he recorded 12 strikeouts and picked up 1 save for the club.

“Fava is a quality Junior arm with maturity and upside,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “As he develops, he’ll pitch out of our bullpen while having Junior to fall back on so he can learn to execute in low-pressure environments.”

Currently, Fava is furthering his education and baseball career at the University of Ottawa. Fava will give the Cardinals another left handed option out of the bullpen.

The Cardinals first home game is on Friday May 17th at 7:30pm against the Guelph Royals. Tickets are now available at CardinalsTickets.ca and the game will be available live on Cable14Now.com.
