Cardinals Sign RHP/OF Jordan Schulefand
The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of RHP/OF Jordan Schulefand.
Schulefand, a native of Parkland, Florida is a right-handed throwing relief pitcher and has the ability to play in the outfield. Schulefand went to Richmond and Maine following an outstanding high school career. He was Rawlings underclass All-American and Perfect Game High Honorable Mention to go along with three All-District honors and three Second Team All-County honors.
Schulefand spent four seasons at Richmond, where he compiled a .277/.357/.397 slash line with 25 doubles, nine home runs and 57 RBI. He was also a career 4-1 on the mound in 26.1 innings that came over 26.1 innings. He played his final season of college at Maine in 2022 and slashed .350/.457/.520 in a total of 49 games. He also hit 13 doubles, five home runs and drove in 28 runs, while walking more (28) than he struck out (22). He was also named to the NEIBA All-New England Second Team.
Schulefand has spent time with both Trois-Rivières and Joliet of the Frontier League in 2023. In 2022 he played for Boise of the Pioneer League. Between the two independent leagues, Shulefand played 27 games and slashed .314/.424/.357
“Jordan brings a unique dynamic to the roster, filling a need on the mound while supplementing it with some thump at the plate ,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “In this setting, quality two-ways are tough to come by – we expect him to compete on both sides of the ball.”
