Cardinals Re-Sign Pitcher Weston Markle

The Hamilton Cardinals are thrilled to announce the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Wes Markle.

The 6’6” righty is coming into the 2023 season poised to take a big leap and cement himself as a key piece on the Cardinals staff.

“It’s not difficult to envision a projectable kid in his early 20s thriving under the right circumstance – but his separating tool is his personality,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager.

“I truly admire, and identify with Weston. He has his life ahead of him. I love and respect how he came about being himself – so under the right climate, I have complete faith that his competitiveness will define him. Good thing he’s a Bird.”

Markle spent his 2022 college season with Indiana Tech where he put together a solid season.  He made five appearances including two starts. As a starter, Markle put up an impressive 8 K’s in 11.2 innings, en route to a 2-0 record.
