Cardinals re-sign infielder Brendon Daley

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the re-signing of infielder Brendon Daley for the 2024 season.

Daley, a versatile right-handed batter and infielder standing at 6'3" and weighing 185 lbs, is set to enter his final season of Jr eligibility and will occupy one of the Jr. age roster positions on the IBL roster. Throughout his baseball career, he has been part of the FieldHouse Pirates in Burlington and has also played at Patrick Henry Community College located in Martinsville, Virginia.

In the 2023 season with the Jr Cardinals, Daley showcased his batting prowess by hitting .352 across 54 at-bats, leading the team in doubles, triples, and runs, while also ranking second in home runs and RBIs on the team. His impressive performance led to a promotion to the IBL towards the end of the regular season, where he played in two games. In these appearances, Daley managed to get 2 hits out of 3 at-bats, which included a double, and he scored 2 runs for the team. His strategic batting continued into the playoffs, where he was 5 for 12 at the plate and delivered crucial hits during the series against Barrie.

“Daley did his time at Junior and shined for the IBL team when we needed someone to step up,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “He’s the benchmark for what we expect out of our Juniors – nothing short of future IBLers with an attitude towards competing.”

The Cardinals first home game is on Friday May 17th at 7:30pm against the Guelph Royals. Tickets are now available at CardinalsTickets.ca and the game will be available live on Cable14Now.com.
