Cardinals Re-Sign IBL Top 100 Player Stefan Strecker

HAMILTON – The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce today the re-signing of Top 100 IBL Player LHP Stefan Strecker for the upcoming 2023 season.

Strecker, a Dundas native, returns to Hamilton for his fourth season to continue a storied career filled with many accomplishments. Strecker has been a 7x IBL Champion, 2x All Star and 2x Playoff MVP. Strecker is also the IBL all-time leader in appearances by a pitcher with 315 and the 43-year-old is entering his 20th season in the IBL.

“I am really excited to come back this year and help the team anywhere I can. This new ownership has been very welcoming and there is lots of excitement with this new group of players. Eric has done a terrific job both and off the field and I am very appreciative of this opportunity.” said Strecker. “I am very lucky that my wife and kids are understanding and supportive of me. I hope to contribute to a successful season this year.”

“Streck would only pitch in this league if he felt as though he could compete at a high level,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “He’s seen more hitters in the IBL than most. I’m excited to watch him navigate through innings the way he has been for almost two decades.”

The 6’5 205 lb, left-handed pitcher played OUA Baseball at Brock University before spending 16 years with the Brantford Red Sox organization.
