Cardinals Re-Sign Chiaravalle

The Hamilton Cardinals, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) are pleased to announce the re-signing of Outfielder Jake Chiaravalle (Hamilton).

Jake, who is entering his 4th full season in the IBL had career highs in 2019 in hits, doubles, homeruns and rbi's. After a very successful collegiate career at McMaster he joined the Cardinals briefly in 2015 before becoming a regular in 2017. Jake is a lifetime .280 hitter (82-293) in his IBL career with 10 homeruns and 44 runs driven in. Last year Jake hit .274 (34-124) with 9 doubles and 4 homeruns.

“Feels great to be back with the team for another summer.  We made huge strides last year but fell short in the playoffs.  We’re looking to build off what we did last year and take it further.  The organization from top to bottom is set up to be successful.  We’ve got a great veteran group that will set the tone for the younger players. I look forward to getting out there and competing for a championship.  That’s the goal.”  stated Chiaravalle.

GM Jeff Lounsbury "Jake is the kind of guy every team wants and needs. He plays hard, he plays for the name on the front of his jersey and not the back and he's improving as well. He has been very consistent in the last 4 years and his power numbers are improving. He is a club house leader and helps make all the guys more comfortable. It's great to have local leadership like Jake."

The Hamilton Cardinals are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
