Cardinals re-sign catcher Aidan Muir

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce that catcher/utility player Aidan Muir will be returning to the team for the 2024 season.

At 23 years old, the Ancaster, Ontario, native played with the Cardinals throughout the 2023 season. Among his 11 game appearances last season, the most memorable was his game-winning hit against the London Majors on August 13th. In a tense moment with runners on first and third and only one out in the bottom of the 9th inning, Muir's clutch single through the infield sealed a dramatic comeback win for the Cardinals, marking the team's second walk-off victory of the season.

“Having depth is one thing but having depth with local players is the most ideal situation,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “Muir is in line to win some innings behind the plate this year, so we’re looking forward to seeing him compete.”

Beyond the field, Muir is deeply involved in the Hamilton community, where he offers his expertise to young players through his venture, On Deck Baseball, by conducting lessons and clinics.

The Cardinals first home game is on Friday May 17th at 7:30pm against the Guelph Royals. Tickets are now available at CardinalsTickets.ca and the game will be available live on Cable14Now.com.
