Cardinals lose on the road in London
The Hamilton Cardinals lost 11-6 to the London Majors on Saturday night at Labatt Park.
Justin Gideon went four for five with two homeruns, giving him eleven on the year and sole possession of first in IBL homeruns.
Luis Jean went three for five with an RBI while playing third base for the Cardinals.
Hamilton out-hit London 13-11, but left 10 runners on base in the game.
The Cardinals briefly took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning before the Majors ran away with the game in the bottom half.
Gabe Braun got the loss for Hamilton after going 3.2 innings, giving up seven runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out four and walking two batters.
London’s starting pitcher, Pedro De Los Santos, was credited with his second win after going seven innings, giving up three earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 11 and walking just one batter.
Cleveland Brownlee (.371 AVG, 10 HR) and Starling Joseph (.361 AVG, 7 HR) also both hit homers for the Majors.
The Cardinals (6-20) return home Sun, July 17 to take on the Welland Jackfish (20-6) at 2:05 p.m. at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.
