Lefty Ben Braun re-signs for 2020

Left Handed Pitcher Ben Braun (Georgetown) returns for his 2nd season in a Cardinals uniform after spending 2 seasons pitching in Burlington. Last season Ben made 11 appearances and started 7 games for the Cards with an impressive 2-3 record with an ERA of 3.56.  He had career highs in innings with 48 and in strikeouts with 38. Even more impressive was his 2 starts in the playoffs which saw Ben gave up 2 unearned runs in 14 innings pitched. He picked up a win with 8 innings shutout ball against Guelph in round 1.

"Ben is the type of guy who works hard, throws strikes and keeps hitters off balance. His ability to have low pitch at bats allows him to go deep into games and gives us a chance to win each time he takes the mound. He is a quiet guy but he is a great teammate who loves the game." stated GM Jeff Lounsbury

Braun says “I can’t wait to get back on the field and pick up from where we left off last season. Not only do we have a really talented group of guys but we have a really strong team chemistry as well, and I couldn’t be more excited get things going and make a run at a championship next summer.”

The Hamilton Cardinals are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
