Hamilton Cardinals Announce Matthew Ferreira as Director of Jr. Baseball Operations

The Hamilton Cardinals are proud to announce Matthew Ferreira as the new Director of Jr. Baseball Operations. Matt will be instrumental in overhauling and leading the 22U Jr. Baseball program, bringing with him a wealth of experience in athletics administration and coaching.


Ferreira, currently the athletic director at Mohawk College, has over a decade of experience in collegiate sports, including significant roles at Humber College where he was the manager of lakeshore athletics, leading community engagement and strategic athletics initiatives. As a head baseball coach, he guided Humber College to an OCAA Championship and national title, earning Coach of the Year honors in 2018. Ferreira has an extensive history with the Etobicoke Rangers baseball program, serving as a coach, player, and leader of their Jr program.


A former baseball collegiate athlete himself, Matt holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Physical Education. He resides in Hamilton with his wife, Lauren, and their two sons, Beckett and Carter. The Cardinals are excited for the leadership and expertise he will bring to the team.
