Chris Piano Named New Field Manager

Earlier this week, the Cardinals and Lenin Picota agreed to mutually part ways. Subsequently, GM George Halim appointed Chris Piano as the 30th Field Manager in the history of the Cardinals. Luis Bernardo will shift into an assistant coach and player role with the club.

Chris Piano, originally from Hamilton, ON, has been an integral part of the Hamilton Cardinals' staff since 2021. He brings extensive experience to the team, having served as a player and coach for the Union Kufstein Vikings in the Austrian Baseball League in 2009. Piano also showcased his skills in Australia, playing for the Berkley Eagles during the 2008 season. His tenure with the Hamilton franchise in the IBL spanned five seasons. Throughout his IBL career, Piano achieved an impressive career batting average of .281 (89 hits in 317 at-bats), including 13 doubles, 5 triples, 5 home runs, 42 RBIs, and 23 stolen bases. Notably, he led the IBL in triples in 2011.
