Cardinals Even Series with London
Luis Bernardo went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs in Hamilton’s 16-2 win Saturday at home over London.
The best-of-five series is tied 1-1 with Game 3 Sunday at Labatt Park.
Stephen Whalen singled three times and drove in three, Rikelbin DeCastro doubled and drove in two, Tyler Duncan had two hits and two RBI, Dennis Dei Baning singled, doubled and drove in a run, while Andrew Johnston, Brendon Daley and Keelor Loveridge each had an RBI and combined to score six runs.
Mizuki Akatsuka (1-0) struck out eight over seven innings for the win. He yielded an unearned run.
Brad Verhoeven drove in a run on two hits for London. Kaiden Cardoso singled twice.
Majors’ starting pitcher Travis Keys gave up six runs on eight hits over five innings. He walked three and fanned five.
